Traffic Marshall

Our typical scope of banksman work will include:

• Traffic Control Planning: Developing a traffic management plan in coordination with the construction project’s logistics team. This plan would outline traffic flow patterns, designated access points, parking areas, and any temporary road closures or detours necessary for construction activities.
• Traffic Direction: Directing vehicles entering and exiting the construction site to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow. This may involve using hand signals, flags, or traffic control devices such as cones and barriers.
• Pedestrian Safety: Ensuring the safety of pedestrians by directing them to designated walkways and crossings away from vehicular traffic.
• Parking Management: Coordinating parking for construction workers, visitors, and delivery vehicles to optimise space utilisation and minimise congestion. This may involve directing vehicles to designated parking areas and monitoring parking compliance.
• Communication: Maintaining clear communication with construction site personnel, delivery drivers, and other stakeholders to coordinate traffic management activities effectively.
• Compliance Monitoring: Monitoring compliance with traffic management plans and safety regulations to identify and address any issues or violations promptly. Marshals may also conduct regular inspections of traffic control devices and signage.
• Documentation and Reporting: Keeping accurate records of traffic management activities, including any incidents or near misses, and reporting them to relevant stakeholders as required. This documentation helps assess the effectiveness of traffic control measures and identify areas for improvement.
• Training and Certification: Ensuring that traffic marshals are properly trained and certified in traffic management procedures, safety protocols, and relevant regulations. Ongoing training and professional development may be provided to keep marshals updated on best practices and industry standards.
